If I was to start a book club (a few months from now, after I finish up all of my current projects), would anyone join? This would be a personal book club, a close circle of people who, together, just might cultivate an interesting conversation.

The list of books that I plan to donate to the library and already have/have found on Amazon are as follows:
The Yoga Sutras of Putanjali
I Ching
Egyptian Book of the Dead
Torah
Now I just have to find texts on Shintoism, Buddhism and Wicca (though a book of shadows might be too much for a high school library, I'll have to check on that next time I volunteer...), as well as the four Vedas.
I can't put up posters in my school regarding starting a local chapter of adbusters. I can take out an ad in the school newspaper, but honestly, I don't think that I should use so much effort to make a school filled with deadbeats show some concern for the world around them.
I joined the Gay Straight Alliance, and it's a lot of fun. The people there are so nice and interesting, and welcoming, unlike one club I could mention! ^^ Ah, but my people skills have changed a lot since then. Anyway, they're doing some great things, and it's good to get involved.
My cousins are coming over Sunday! They're so adorable, I can't wait to hang out with them. I'm sure they'll love my Bratz collection. Finally, a good use for something that I thought I'd never use! :P

So I finished the 100 Items Project, I still haven't gotten permission from the school to hang up posters (I don't think I will get permission, but that won't keep me from trying to start a local chapter.
I don't usually give up on my projects, but I started this one in a fit and it's just not realistic. So if I get the nay from the administrators, I'll move on to the next item on my list- get more religious texts in my school library.
The WHS library religion section contains about five Bibles, two Q'Rans and a couple of baby books that cover the basics. I plan to donate an I Ching, the Yoga Sutra and a few other traditional eastern religious texts. I've already gotten the two aforementioned books, but I want to do a little more research before I choose the rest.
Religion isn't the most important thing a person can learn about, but if one goes into their school library and only has two religions at their disposal, something's wrong.
But that's on the backburner for now. Right now I just want you all to know that Jimmy Carr is my new Frank Caliento. |

In between my New Year's resolution, homework and starting a local Adbusters chapter, I have a new personal project. I call it Operation 100 items.
You see, I'm an admitted anti-minimalist. Everything I own is in excess, and most of it is complete junk that I never use. So I'm giving away clothes ro thrift stores and the Salvation Army, books to used book stores, and garbage to my local dump.
My goal is to get rid of 100 items by the time I'm done. I assumed it would take about a week, and would be a challenge. In reality, simply giving away clothes and accesories racked up 45 items.
I'll sure have fun couting every item I own when I'm through. |

Since I've last written:
1.) I've started a poster campaign in my school to create a local chapter of Adbusters. I'm now recruiting WHS artists to help me with the posters.
2.) I got called "sir" while returning rental snowboarding boots.
3.) I bought new snowboarding boots to avoid seeing that man again.
4.) I bought a London punk Bratz doll and my first Living Dead doll. The Bratz is named Kingdom, the LDD is Samara (due to her resemblance to the horror movie character)
5.) I scared the living daylights out of my poor sister, who is deathly afraid of The Ring.
6.) I've considered joining the Gay Straight Alliance

My sister is waging a silent battle against me. She holds up her hands and says "I don't talk to lesbians" every time I try to start a conversation with her. I swear, it's been over a year since I came out.
Well, you know what? Maybe I don't talk to pyromaniacs, either. ^-^
My Christmas money has been burning a hole in my pocket. So far I've bought (boughten? Save me from myself!) a rabbit fur jacket, some Para Kiss, the Triplets of Bellesview (excuse me, Bellesville) soundtrack and a new Bratz Treasures doll.
My last purchase will be a Pretty n' Punk Bratz Meygan doll, if I can find her somewhere outside the net. I mean, come on, corporate efforts to mix countercultures with dolls stocked at Wal-Mart? Oh, yes...
